It is quite amazing to see all the little things that the human brain stores in memory, like an old blog username. I revisited my old xanga page with a last post dated back to June of 2006, 6 years ago? Time really does fly. I'm recreating this "blog experience" just to track my whereabouts and my own lifestyle. If I happen to inspire anyone on the way, well, even better.

So I've been on summer break for about 2 weeks now and if there is something you should know about me, its that I enjoy a busy lifestyle. I LOVE having things to do, it makes a day go by faster and I feel like I'm doing something with my life. With that said, the first week of my break was saddening. Parents work from day to night, two older brothers live on their own, all that was left was my cat, a couple of fishes, two turtles, and me. I actively searched for things to do: eating out with friends, going to the movies, same old, same old..

I figured I can start learning materials for biochem next semester, that didn't phase me much. I joined pinterest and found some nifty arts and crafts work, sure I can do that. Then, I came across a blog (http://fuckyeahfitspo.tumblr.com/) that particularly caught my eye, a fitness blog. EPIPHANY, why don't I spend the month training my body and getting into the shape that I always wanted but never "had the time" to do so. Genius, so that's what I have been doing.

I've been using  http://www.mapmyrun.com  since last year and I absolutely love the feature of being able to map the route that I actually took, it makes running at different locations a lot easier especially from the switch between Chicago and Urbana.

In addition to running, I've been watching my diet for over a week now using this handy dandy site called http://www.myfitnesspal.com/ (if you have it, friend me!) I started out by calculating my BMR, finding a calorie goal, and food log everything that I eat and drink in a day, along with the calories burned during exercise.

On average, people need ~2,000 calories which is why nutrition labels say "Percent Daily Values are based on a 2,000 calorie diet" I personally need only 1,703 calories to stay alive because I am smaller than the average American.

Well, pictures and progress is sure to be posted soon.

Have a beautiful night <3
